Course Descriptions
Yoga for Runners
Does what it says on the tin – if you are a runner, then this is for you!
As a lifetime runner myself, I am all too aware of how stuck we can get in patterns that cause injury and tightness – and I am a big fan of my tissues gilding more effectively, bringing an ease to my running.
Yoga can have benefits for both the runner’s body (improved flexibility, range of motion, muscular strength) and mind (more focus, less stress).
I have created these classes to help runners improve performance and prevent injury. Yoga is the perfect recovery activity for runners, relieving soreness and tension in your hardworking muscles, restoring range of motion so you can run better the next time you hit the road.
You are more than welcome to join if you hate running and never do it, of course! There is always a benefit to moving your body around 🙂 Get in touch for more info
Introduction to Vinyasa
I have wanted to teach this course for a while to introduce the flow practice as it can be quite different to more static forms of yoga – and it can be a bit overwhelming going to a mixed-level class where everyone else seems to know what’s going on!
This 6-session course – which you can complete with me on Zoom or at your own pace with the recordings – allows you to establish a foundation, building the confidence you need to take part in Vinyasa Flow classes.
We will touch upon yoga history and philosophy to help you understand why you are being asked to do the things your instructor asks you to do. I will take you through the key poses and their proper alignment so you can have good form (and so you also know when and how to mix it up and break all the rules!)
You will then learn how to link breath with motion, before flowing through the sun salutations, allowing you to build up to a full Vinyasa Flow yoga practice.
Once you have established the basics of Vinyasa Flow, you will begin to receive the benefits of a stronger, more mobile body with better balance and posture. But arguably most important is the relaxed mind which can more easily connect with the body through the breath.
Because you are fully focused on your body and the breath, it works as a kind of moving meditation – so it’s not just the benefits from exercise, you also get to tackle stress and improve your concentration.
As the ultimate ‘healthy body and healthy mind’ workout, Vinyasa Flow yoga is the perfect choice for busy people who want a vigorous session where they can feel their body working but also want to enhance their mental wellbeing and boost overall vitality.
This course provides an introduction to this almost dance-like style of yoga which some people may find a little daunting at first. I’ll provide you with lots of variations to make the movements easier or more challenging, so you can pick the level that is right for you.
1-1 Private Classes
I am available for 1-1 classes on request. A private class, even a live stream one, is a brilliant way to kickstart a yoga practice, or to take it further, whether you are working on inversions, or have trouble keeping focused!

For info…
Yoga is for everyone.
However, when online, it is up to the individual to assess whether they are ready for the class that they have chosen.
Obviously, if you suffer from specific injuries or disease it is best to consult with your doctor first.
Similarly if you are pregnant, follow the recommended practice only.
The practice of yoga asanas requires you – the practitioner – to gauge the safety of your practice within your personal physical limitations. It is better to build up slowly than to force and strain. Whilst you may feel exertion, you should also feel relaxed.
The techniques and suggestions presented in this website and in my classes are not intended to substitute for proper medical advice.
Consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.
